Dartmouth-Kalaniyot Collaborative Ventures in the Sciences

Program Overview

The Dartmouth-Kalaniyot Collaborative Ventures in the Sciences Program supports collaborative research projects between Dartmouth and Israeli scientists. This program fosters international scientific partnerships and advances knowledge through joint research efforts.

Funding Information

  • Award Amount: Up to $50,000 per project
  • Duration: Typically one year
  • Application Deadlines: Two RFPs per year - November 15 and April 15
  • Cost-sharing: Required from participating institutions

Eligible Activities

The program supports a wide range of collaborative activities, including:

  • Faculty-to-faculty research collaborations
  • Shared graduate student and postdoctoral fellow projects
  • Research working groups and workshops
  • Joint conferences, schools, and/or symposiums
  • Equipment sharing and joint facility use
  • Reciprocal research visits (strongly encouraged)

Eligibility Criteria

  • Principal investigators must be faculty members at Dartmouth College
  • Projects must involve meaningful collaboration with one or more Israeli research institutions
  • Projects should demonstrate clear scientific merit and collaboration potential
  • Preference given to projects that include reciprocal visits between institutions

Application Process

Applications are accepted twice per year with deadlines on November 15 and April 15. All applications must be submitted via email to kalaniyot.dartmouth@gmail.com with the subject line "DKS Collaborative Ventures Application - [Your Name]".

Required Application Materials:

  • Project description including scientific rationale, timeline and milestones, and expected outcomes and deliverables (2 pages)
  • Detailed budget and cost-sharing plan
  • CVs of participating faculty from Dartmouth and Israeli institutions

Award Responsibilities

  • Acknowledge DKS funding in all publications and presentations
  • Submit final report within 60 days of project completion
